Dorina

2000 Imported Trakehner Mare by
Bouquet AA out of Domina by EH Argument

Available for Purchase - Please Inquire

This mare was performance tested in Schleswig-Holstein and received a score of 8.4! She received a 9 for jumping and 9's for ridebility from both the judge and the guest rider. Dorina was chosen for the Trakehner Verband Jumping Program. She was inspected in Germany and received a score of 54.5 (8,8,7/7,8,8.5/8).

Dorina brings very interesting and unusual bloodlines to the U.S. She is by the Anglo-Arabian stallion Bouquet AA who is by the Shagya stallion Bajar ShA . This side of Dorina's pedigree is well known for producing event and jumping horses. Bouquet AA is the sire of the successful eventing stallion Benedict, an approved stallion
and a *** event horse. Bouquet's sire, Bajar ShA, was the winner of his 100-day performance test in Germany and the sire of many successful eventing and jumping horses. Bajar ShA is the sire of the famous eventing mare, White Girl , who competed in the 1992 and 1996 Olympics for the German Team. She was also the 1993 German Trakehner of the year. Dorina is from the Donna mare family. Dorina's dam, Domina, is by the Elite Stallion Argument, a fabulous dressage horse and sire of dressage horses. Domina also has Tuemmler as well as Habicht further back in her pedigree.

In 2006, Dorina produced the gelding Diallo, by the Trakehner stallion Windfall *Pg*.  In 2009 she produced the filly Dora, by the Eventing and Jumper stallion Tzigane *Pb* who was recently exported to stand in Germany. You can view both offspring on the Youngsters pages.

Lucie

1995 Anglo-Trakehner Mare by Enrico Caruso *Ps*E*
 out of Limelight by Leibjager

Lucie was inspected by the American Trakehner Association in 2003 and accepted into the Preliminary Stud Book with a score of 54 (8,8,8/7,8,7/8).

Lucie was my first Trakehner. I fell in love when I met her as a two-year old and she is the kindest horse I have ever known. In 2001 she had a very successful eventing season under Barbara Crabo of Four Peaks Farm, Scottsdale, Arizona. She was 1st place four times and 2nd place once at very large shows, at both Novice and Training levels. She was again evented in 2004, with two first place finishes and one fifth.

Lucie's first foal, Libbie *M* by the Trakehner stallion Feuertänzer, was awarded the designation of "Model Mare" by the American Trakehner Association in 2006. At the age of 4, Libbie went on to an eventing career and was purchased by a Young Rider.  In 2009 Libbie and Courtney were Area VI Young Rider Champions at Training Level.

In 2007 Lucie produced Lickity Split (Lacie), a black filly by the Trakehner stallion Windfall *Pg*. This filly is co-owned by myself and Lucie's previous trainer, Barbara Crabo and will be started in the spring of 2010 for an Eventing career. In 2008, Lucie produced Lexington Wind (Luigi), a black gelding by Windfall *Pg* and in 2009, Lucie produced the bay gelding, Louie, also by Windfall *Pg*.  You may view all of Lucie's offspring on the Youngsters pages.

Astra

1994 Trakehner Mare by Amethyst
out of Anemone by Rombus

This mare came from Tim Holekamp's (owner of Windfall *Pg*) breeding program. When Astra was born, his 11 year old daughter claimed her on the spot and he and his wife turned the filly entirely over to her to own and raise. She ground broke her and saddle broke her with ease and almost without any help trained her to novice eventing. Astra evented successfully to preliminary.

She has earned several year-end awards:

2000 AHSA Area 4 Combined Training Horse of the Year Training Champion
2000 ATA Horse of the Year Training CT - Reserve Champion
2001 Columbia DCTA Year-End Awards Training, Jr. - Reserve Champion

The Holekamps were told that Astra had Advanced level ability but pasture injury ended her career.

Astra has produced calm and gentle foals, including Asterion (4 year old Young Event Horse Champion in Canada in 2007 and 5 year old YEH Champion in the US in 2008) and Aleta (also currently eventing) both by Windfall *Pg*.  She produced a 2006 colt by Baron Verdi who is now beginning his training. They are easy to start and ride, very human-oriented and forgiving.

In 2007, Astra produced Arya, a gray filly by Windfall *Pg* and in 2009 produced a gray colt very similar to Arya also by Windfall *Pg*.  To view Astra's offspring please see the Youngsters pages.

1988 Trakehner Mare by Target
out of Herbstblute by Matador

I feel very fortunate to have been given the opportunity to own this mare. She is really something special. She evented very successfully through advanced level in a career spanning over 10 years under three riders (Alex Reifels, Bruce Mandeville, and Ashley Dalton). Her show record is quite extensive with many wins and year-end titles:

1994 - Combined Training ATA Horse of the Year - Preliminary Reserve Champion
1995 - Combined Training ATA Horse of the Year - Preliminary Champion
ATA Horse of the Year - Intermediate Reserve Champion
Trakehner Förderverein Award
1996 - Combined Training ATA Horse of the Year - Intermediate Champion
1997 - Combined Training ATA Horse of the Year - Intermediate Champion
ATA Horse of the Year - Advanced Champion
Trakehner Förderverein Award
2002 - Combined Training ATA Horse of the Year - Intermediate Reserve Champion
(To see her full show record, search on her name at the ATA web site.)

She is now a broodmare and has produced three foals by Windfall *Pg*. A 2005 Trakehner filly, Herbstrose (now eventing). A 2006 Trakehner filly (to start eventing 2010) , and Henry Knox, a bay gelding foaled in 2007. In 2009 she produced a very nice chestnut colt, Homer's Odyssey, by the Thoroughbred stallion, White Tie Tryst (by The Breeders Cup winner, Black Tie Affair).  To view her offspring born here please see the Youngsters pages.

Hapache

1990 Trakehner Mare by Apache *Pb*
out of Heimische by Gazal

Hapache comes from a very fertile family with her mother having produced 18 foals! Her sire, Apache *Pb*, was a successful FEI dressage stallion. Hapache has amazing reach through the shoulder and very active hind legs, with an ideal neck. Not a thing I'd change about her. She is 1/4 Shagya Arabian through the stallion Gazal. Hapache became an Honor Roll mare in 2007 when she produced her 10th foal.  Following is a list of her offspring:

1994 - Hejira, mare by Butow *E*
1995 - Hiawatha, gelding by Pajou
1996 - Halona, mare by Pajou
1997 - Huron, gelding by Butow *E*
1998 - Hazeem, gelding by Butow *E*
1999 - Hopi , gelding by Butow *E*
2001 - Hoffman , gelding by Butow *E*
2002 - Hermione , filly by Butow *E*
2006 - Huachuca , gelding by Pajou
2007 - Hwin , filly by Fandango

Hapache has produced two foals for us.  The jet black gelding, Huachuca, in 2006 by the Trakehner stallion Pajou. In 2007, Hapache produced the gray filly, Hwin, by the imported Eventing and Dressage stallion Fandango by Sixtus.  To view the foals Hapache has produced for us, please see the Youngsters pages.

1995 Purebred Arabian Mare by
Tla Czar-Zil out of Gypsy Mystic

I accidentally came across Abby in the summer of 2003 in Montana. She had been used as a dressage horse by her previous owner.  In 2003 she was inspected and approved by the American Trakehner Association with a score of  50 (7,7,7/7,8,7/7).

She has had three foals for us, Mysterious Affair , 2004 bay Anglo-Arabian filly by White Tie Tryst. Mysticantare, 2006 gray Arab-Trakehner gelding by the Trakehner stallion Incantare. Dahabi Safir, 2008 purebred Arabian gelding by the Arabian stallion Golden Ecstasy.  Although Abby has been a good producer for us, one of my boys is showing interest in riding. She is proving to be a good horse for children and seems to be enjoying her new job packing around the kids. We have decided to leave her open for a few years.
