Welcome to Big Sky Trakehners! We are located in the Bitterroot Valley in Western Montana. The focus of our breeding program is to produce horses that will excel in the sport of Eventing. Most of our broodmares are retired event horses or have been performance tested. We breed these mares to stallions who have proven themselves in competition, giving their offspring the best odds that they too will go on to successful careers.
We believe that young horses should be raised in groups with their peers,
outdoors even in the winter months. This makes them tough and sound, both mentally and physically. Our youngsters receive positive daily interaction with us. You can expect our "kids" to load into a trailer and stand with well mannered confidence for the veterinarian and farrier.
